Coaches Reports: Basic information (please read)

Please be sure to fill out a report for every class you teach.  This is a very important requirement that will allow us to know what material you have covered to date.  It is especially important in the event you cannot make your class and we have to find a substitute, or if there is a problem and we need to have documentation.

To send your information, you may login on the right sidebar to complete the Coaches report form. This will be sent directly to the us.

Coaches Login:

Your report should include the following information.  We will soon have an area on our website where you will be able to log this information on a per school basis.  Continue to use the old methods until we let you know we have this new feature on our website operational.

These are the key areas you need to cover:

Take Attendance:  Please note new students (who are not on your list) and get contact information for them.  In the early weeks, let us know who was present, new and who was absent.  After the first 3 weeks of class (and we have a stable roster) you can just note absentees.

Your Lesson:What did you cover?  Start with a quick review of the material or HW from the previous week.  Be sure to utilize a lesson from the Championship Chess book/s. If you have any other lessons you are teaching, please tell us what they are, and your source if using a book, web source or magazine – remember, 20-25 minutes max for lesson!

Video: Let us know if you used the video and if so, what segment?  It is good to bring in lessons utilizing video to add variety to your lessons from time to time.  If you are in an area where there is no TV/DVD ask the media specialist if one can be made available for the next week.

Home Study: What “at home” assignment did you give the kids?  Did you do a review of past week’s HS assignment.  This is a great way to start the lesson, to see if the kids are doing the HS, and if they are understanding the lesson.

Any Problems? If you encounter problems, need books, have a schedule change, or other issues that we need to know about immediately, please enter that information in the "Problems encountered" box on the form.

If you have any questions, please call Steve Schneider (770) 939-4596 or cell 770-912-7665.
